Rosie J Photography

A very good friend of mine, Jenni, started up her own photography business. You will have to check out her link under my friends list. She does amazing work, and I've been very lucky to have her around to capture the best pictures of Jayla, and our family. She specializes in boudoir pictures, but has a natural talent to everything she shoots. So if anyone is interested, please check out her blog. Christmas is right around the corner, this might be just what you are looking for?!

A taste of her boudoir work....
~Thank you Jenni for all the great pictures you have given me along the years. I am so excited for you and your new business. We all know that you might have to quit teaching to keep up with your clients ;)~

Happy 35th Daddy!!!

~Daddy~
I really wanted to sing, "Happy Birthday", to you
and I had a great 1st take, but silly Mommy forgot to hit the record button,
so I had a hard time sitting still, with no graham crackers (like Mommy promised).
Anyway, Mommy and I, hope you enjoy our attempt for an extra special birthday wish.
We both love you so very much and hope you have the greatest birthday ever!!
*don't forget to hit the mute button on Mommy's music playlist*

Garrett Family Weekend Fun...

...Okay well Mama Garrett got to have most the fun and kept everyone super busy.

Friday afternoon Jayla and I headed out for a play date with Candis and Camden. We met out at Desert Ridge to do a little shopping and let the girls run around Barnes and Noble.
Camden and Jayla just hanging out... Not really, Candis and I forced them to sit still for a picture.
Camden was much more interested in this book, than taking a picture and Jayla was in one of her moods (thanks to a VERY short nap that day)
Jayla loved playing with these germ infested trains- I know, I know, I'm trying to get the hang of this germ thing.
Camden was like watching a kid in a candy store. She ran around touching everything as well as pulling everything off of the shelves. She was having a blast!!
Camden reading Jay's new Elmo book. ~Candis, she may be an Elmo fan now :)~
~Thank you Candis for a fun afternoon! Hiking and drinks here we come :)~
After I left our play date, Jayla and I headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Riley's house to meet up and pass off Jayla for the night.
Jearel and I had two adult birthday parties to attend. First was off to Bobby Mcgees (oops excuse me, Bobby Q's) for Jearel's friend's birthday and then it was off to my friend's birthday.
I was planning on getting some pictures of our night out, but we both were having so much fun that I forgot all about the camera.
Saturday we spent the day re-arranging Jayla's bedroom to make it more "Big Girl". The biggest thing was transferring her bed into the toddler bed, only to find out that Babies R Us ordered us the wrong part over 3 years ago and after an annoying ordeal with them, we just got our money back for the side rail that didn't match her crib. So Jayla is learning to sleep in the next portion of the transition, being the daybed. So far so good, she has not fallen out of her bed and I suppose even if she did, she couldn't hurt herself. It is only a step up from the ground. Plus she really loves being able to climb in and out of her bed on her own. As a matter of fact, today, after her nap, she got up and walked right out to me. It was the cutest thing ever!!! I will have to post pictures soon.

Sunday, I got up early and headed out to participate in the Phoenix 10k walk for domestic violence.
I was amazed at how many people showed up and also sadden by many, that wore shirts in memory of their loved ones that were lost to domestic violence. A really good friend of mine was a victim of domestic violence. I proudly walked next to her, showing my support.
This wasn't even the just of how many people were there. I had a knot in my throat just seeing how many people are affected by this abuse.

After our walk, they had a kids dash. There were kids of all ages, toddlers to teens, getting ready for a little run.
Chris and I after the walk.
~Chris thank you so much for asking me to be a part of this walk. I love you girl.~

"Tic ER Teet"

The Garrett family had loads of fun last night and got lots of pictures to share (as usual). ENJOY!
First we had to get Jayla all primped and ready for her night.
Mommy curled her hair, and even added a little make-up to her pretty angel.
She is such a girly-girl, so this was a special treat for her.
Of course she had to have lots of lotion
"Cheese"
YAWNING with enthusiasm
All ready!!
After Jayla and the rest of us were ready, we headed over to Peoria Sports Complex for some trick or treatin. They put on a huge Halloween Carnival, with lots of games, and other activities for the kids to enjoy. It was free to get in, with hopes that people would bring cans of food to donate. I was surprised at how many people showed up, it was packed by 7pm.
It takes Jayla a little bit to warm up to new things. You can see it in her face here, taking it all in.
Waiting in line for a "dot dog"
Yummy
Now waiting in line to get lots of candy.
A "Dum Dum" sucker and a balloon, she was more than happy.

Jayla even participated in a bunch of games, where she won some more candy and toys.

She loved running around on the "b-ball" field.
We got to get up close, to four hot air balloons.
Bouncy time with the big kids... Ok, not really, but Jayla loved running up and down the edges of this (with daddy's help of course)
We headed home around 730, got out our camping chairs, and passed out candy to our neighborhood kids.
Trying to convince Jayla to give the candy to the kids.
Starting to get the hang of it!!
My beautiful girl!! Seriously how did Jearel and I get so lucky?!
Jayla had to have a taste of every sucker. No likey the apple flavored one.
Banana Split is MMMMMM-M good!!
My silly girl-she had so much fun putting the candy bowl on her head while dancing around.
Hee-HEE
*dancing, dancing*

~Hope everyone had a HAPPY HALLOWEEN~
