Our Little Singer

Jayla loves to sing and this is just what she does with every song she sings, nice and loud. This was the first time she sang ever so loudly in public. Thankfully Johnny Rockets was nice and busy, I don't think anyone minded.

*Once Jearel busted out the camera to catch her in action she quit singing. I had to encourage her to start up again, so don't laugh ;)!! Remember to scroll down and pause my music player (Mom and Dad).

Jayla's Birthday Celebrations

It's hard to believe that our baby girl is now 2!!! Friday morning (her actual birthday), I surprised Jayla with her favorite breakfast and a very cute "inssess" singing card. The first thing I asked her when she woke up was "guess who's birthday is today?" and she responded with, "A.J." (her cousin that she has a huge crush on), but then when I brought her a card that had JAYLA written on the outside, I asked, "what does that say" and she said, "Geela". Yes, I know she is super smart ;). She actually can tell you ever letter in her name.

This was her morning bed head and happiness!!
It is amazing to me how much hair she has and how long it has grown over this past year.
"CHEESE"
That morning we rushed to take Jayla to her 2 year well check. She has grown to really love her doctor and even looks forward to going in to see him and all the nurses there. Everyone of those nurses get overly excited to see Jayla. They all have to run up and poke their heads through the window just to say Hi to her and always compliment her on how pretty she is.
I told Jearel it sometimes makes me feel uncomfortable because they never do it to anyone else. OK really it makes Jayla and I feel very special!!!
Stats on Jay:
Height: 34 3/4 inches
Head: 19 1/2 inches (I think?)
Weight: 27 lbs
And she is super smart for her age :)

This was my dancing machine before we left for the doctors
A favorite new hairstyle (for mommy). She hates when I do it, but it keeps the hair out of her face.
Later that night Daddy and Mommy took Jayla out for a special dinner, at Johny Rockets.
She loves that place!!

Cheesing it up with Daddy!

MMMM, yummy ice cream!
On Valentine's Day we had a HUGE party at our house for Jayla. Her big birthday wish this year was to have an outdoor play set (swing set) and I am happy to say that thanks to everyone who came out to our party helped make that wish come try for Jayla!!! We are hoping to have it up and ready for play by this up coming weekend (feel free to join us in the fun)!
Little Lola was a star for the weekend as well, since her and Jayla share in the same birthday.
Lola cruising around in Jayla's car at the party!
My beautiful Aunt Suzy and Jay.
I think the birthday girl was more interested in all the party favors mommy put out, especially this candy necklace.
The birthday girl playing with all of her friends and family. It was amazing how independent she was this year. She wanted nothing to do with mommy and daddy!!
Getting ready to sing her "happy birthday"

She even knew when to stand up and blow out her candles (all on her own). WHAT A BIG GIRL!

Her very own birthday cake, thanks to a friend of Jearel's who owns a bakery!

Daddy helping Jay dig in, she hates being messy!

Her little friend Molly giving birthday hugs!
Present time!!!
Mostly everything was cash, at Jayla's request!!
She sure was SPOILED!!

Our little birthday Princess!
My little family!
Jay-Lo, the best of friends!
Stopping for a picture!
These girls sure love to be the center of attention!
I was bummed and didn't think to get any pictures of our set-up, decorations, homemade cupcakes, etc. So Mom and Dad, here is the after math, partially cleaned up.
A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone that came out and celebrated with us on this special day. Jayla is loved by so many and we couldn't be more thankful to be blessed with such wonderful friends and family. We love you all!!
Just a little bit about Jayla from 18 months of age to 2 years old...
She is SUCH a girly girl and loves to wear "lipstick", "paint da toez" and "finger nails."
She is obsessed with baby dolls and my little ponies.
She loves to color and can name just about every color in a box of 24 crayons. Usually everything she sees she calls by color, like "boo chair" or "yahllow car."
She can count up to 13 all on her own and often counts the things she is playing with.
She can say her ABC's all the way through.
She says everything and anything (3 to 4 word sentences), and yes we have had some accidental bad words slip from her mouth.
She loves to sing and sings very loudly. She knows several songs, too many for me to list.
She loves to dance... this is something mommy and Jayla do everyday.
She loves to play with daddy's and grandma's iphones. She can manuver around that thing better than daddy can.
She loves to play with puzzles and is very good at putting the pieces where they belong.
She knows a lot of shapes by name, "circle", "triangle", "square", "octogon"... etc
She has even gotten really good at drawing circles and coloring inside the lines of the circle she draws......
Jayla, you are our little sunshine and make everyday a special day. We are so blessed to have you in our lives and can't be any more proud to call you our daughter. You are bright, beautiful, fun, and so caring. We love you more than words can explain!!!
Happy Birthday once again!!! XO

Happy Birthday to My Mom

Today my mom turns 63 years old and once again we can't be there to help her celebrate. It's hard enough that we live so far apart, but on days like these, she is extra missed. For those of you who don't know my mom had a rough 2009. She spent a lot of time in hospitals and out of commission. She has 4 severely herniated disks in her back that has left her with nerve damage down her foot (hopefully not permanent). My mom is such a busy body and can't sit still for one second. Because of her back she can not return to work, this has been especially hard on her.
Mom and Grandma,
we hope you made the best out of your day today and hope that you find the time to treat yourself to a nice day/night out in the near future (I know Dad was stuck at work all day). We love you so very much and miss you more than you will ever know. Take it easy so you can make a trip this way with all your free time. I promise you will be in good hands ;)!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

This is my favorite picture of my mom. It was taken the night of my bachelorette party. She is such a kid at heart and can party better than the rest of us. She is loved by all my friends, especially Sarah :)!
My beautiful mom and sis (who's birthday just passed on the 3rd)
Happy Birthday Jodi. We love you too!!!

Just for you Grandma (I hope you can hear it, scroll to the end of the page and pause my music player)!!
Don't mind the non-matching hair thing and the load of toys on her bed, she just woke up!

XOXOXOXO
