Hit our house and the news. Check out Jayla and Jearel last night pre-bieber concert, just after she won a pair of tickets from KISS FM for being the CUTEST thing out there ;-). She was brave enough to go on stage and tell the thousands of crazed Bieber fans why she deserved these tickets more than anyone else there. She makes us so proud! More to come on how our night went (Maybe-hee hee), but I can tell you Jayla and I sure had a mommy/daughter night that will never be forgotten.
Be sure to watch the entire thing. SOOOO CUTE!

Officially a TOUGH MUDDER
This event took place in January, but I haven't had the time to post about how it went. So here it is!!!
We had an AMAZING time. It was EXTREMELY hard, but we (I) survived. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I did way better than I imagined and kicked a lot of guy's butts on the obstacles, and we are talking the in shape dudes. Here is the official video of the day I stole from another mudder. This will give you an idea of all the obstacles (28 of them along a 12.5 mile run). Unlike the guy shooting the video, I made it across the monkey bars (greased and they spun), with out falling in the water. I made it across the balance beam with out falling in the water. I made it over all the 12 ft walls (thanks to a boost from Jearel), over, under and through EVERYTHING, including the electroshock therapy at the very end (that hurt like HELL)!!! Let's just say Jearel and I were bruised, scrapped, and suffered from soreness for about a week following the event. We LOVED it so much we preregistered for next year's tough mudder, at the end of February (thank GOD, January was way too cold), and there is talk about traveling to California's tough mudder in September (can't think of a better birthday present to myself).
This video is long, but sums up our day perfectly. While watching this keep in mind it was January, FREEZING cold, and they added bags of ice to the water obstacles. You'll see the ice in the water on the video.
This video was made by me. The beginning is a little long, but I love the dude that gets us pumped before we start. If you make it through the dude talking, you will see us (mostly Jearel) in action (what little we captured). Don't mind the shaky camera work, again, it was FREEZING COLD!

Two posts in one day!
I know this is crazy, but you have to hop on over to my friend Mary Jordan's blog to check out our NEW family/Jayla's 4 year-old photos from her photo shoot.
Just click here and you'll see how AMAZING Miss Mary is. I met her awhile back (I was helping assist wedding photographers, only the best in the valley--Mary was one of them). She is by far one of the sweetest persons I know. As well as, one of the best photographers around, and quite possibly the best dancer around (she likes to boogie).
I'm waiting for our disk of 1000 pictures she took, and maybe someday I will get around to actually posting them on here.
Don't forget to check out my other post below. You don't want to miss it--Hee he!

And another one...
This is what happens when we arrive early for appointments... We wait in the car and have a dance party. Okay, who am I kidding, like I've said before, this girl is ALWAYS dancing.
Enjoy, and make sure you watch the whole thing. She gets down a few times.

Dancing is Her LIFE!
I'm not sure if it's the 2 years in dance class, or if Jayla was just born to dance, but this little girl is a dancing machine. I have over a thousand pictures and videos of her in motion so I decided to share two :-)
Jayla and some of her friends getting ready for their "iDANCE" recital coming in July.
We've moved on from the copying the dance teacher's every move to serious 8-counts.
It's adorable!

I have so many videos of Jayla busting a move. Each and every one of them makes me giggle. She does this anytime and anywhere, as long as there is music playing. I love that my girl is not shy and loves to shake it!

Are We Tough Enough?
I think so. Check out what Jearel and I got ourselves into, happening this Saturday (1/14/2012) at 9:40am. Think of us (and our team of 19 friends) as we take on this crazy 12.5 mile obstacle course of INSANITY. It's been 6 months of waiting and training (hardly). I think we are tough enough. I am super excited!!!!
We'll be climbing up walls...
Crawling through muddy tunnels and freezing cold water...
Crossing over muddy messes on greased monkey bars...
Running through 10,000 volts of electrical wires...
And so on... Until the final end of running through fire :-)
Now who wants to come cheer us on???
Or if you are tough enough, it's not to late to join our team!
I know we are crazy! I CANNOT wait!!!

Glendale Glitters
It's that time of year again... Glendale Glitters, and Jayla was a star on stage!! This is something we'll be looking forward to for years to come. However, I have a feeling nothing will top this year (you'll see why).
Before I continue with this post I have to share Jayla recently moved up in dance class before her performance at Glendale Glitters. Immediately she was asked to move up again, so we waited until this recital was over and made the switch from the "Level One 4 & 5 year-olds" to the "Level Two 4 & 5 year-olds". Let's just say most of the kids are 5 years old (going on six) and there is even one 6 year old. Jearel and I both were a little nervous to see how she would do, but she's been AMAZING to watch. Her dance teacher re-assured us that this is where Jayla belongs. She told us she has amazing listening skills, she is extremely coordinated, and picks up on the dance steps faster than most. What's even more crazy about this dance class it's not just tap the toe and jump around, it's actual five-step moves "shuffle hop step... (and so on)" with out watching the teacher. We are so proud of her. She truly LOVES to dance and LOVES being on stage.
Now on to Glendale Glitters. Of course, Jayla's performance was the Saturday of the opening weekend. It's always extra busy that weekend and makes it that much more fun for us... NOT! Because of this we don't usually get the chance to enjoy Glendale Glitters, instead we just hang out in the huge grassy area behind the main stage and catch up with everyone who makes it out to see Jayla. I think this year she had the biggest cheering crowd yet. It really means so much to us, especially Jayla, that so many people take the time to fight the crowds, stay up late, and watch our little star shine. Friends from nursing school, neighbors, family and our besties were all there. THANK YOU!!!!!!
Jayla's first dance on stage. I missed the opportunity to grab video of this. Thankfully another mom had one to share. You'll find Jayla on the left side, second one in from the middle. At one point she got the tinsel stuck in her Cindy Lou hair do. There were tears, but then she snapped right back into character!
Here's Jayla and Daddy. You might want to grab some tissues...
Auntie Sarah grabbed a much better video that I'm waiting on. I'll post that one later, along with better pictures if I can get any of those from the family?! Thanks Auntie Camille for the ones of Avery and Jay (my fave).
