Hanging With The Halley's

Sunday we enjoyed an afternoon at the Halley household. Jearel got to spend time with 2 of his closest friend's from high school, Lucas Halley and David Renner. Lucas and his wife Sandy barbecued up some yummy burgers and beans. David and his fiance Heather made some spicy guacamole. Jearel whipped up a delish fruit salad and my fav, homemade cookies. We had a great time eating, drinking and watching all 3 kiddo's play. Jayla was in heaven playing with the two Halley boys.

Bloging Catch-up

CATCH UP #1

We took Jay out to a sports bar that very good friends of mine just opened. They use to own a bar that I use to work at (BFD's) and this is the exact same concept. They have amazing cheap food and very cheap drinks. I am so excited for the Brink's to finally get a place up and running again. With this being said I will be bartending there on Saturdays. No I didn't need to go back to work but thought it would be fun.

CATCH UP #2

Jayla had her 15 month well check on Tues. the 12th. She only needed to get one shot this time but for some reason this was the worst one yet. She did wake up that morning with a fever, but the doctor said everything looked good. She showed no signs of being sick so they went ahead a gave her the shot. This was her the entire rest of the day and next. She never wanted to leave our bed. Little Miss Mopey Magee. The doctor said she does have 6 teeth coming in. I only noticed 4. Little to my surprise there are 6. 4 top molars and 2 bottom teeth.

Her 15 month stats:

22.6 pounds (average)

32 inches tall (above average "off the charts")

Head ?, all I know is it was finally just average which means she finally grew into her melon that was always off the charts.

Daddy tried hard to cheer up little Miss Jay by taking her swimming. This didn't last long but she absolutely loved watching Maggie our little Outer swim.

Jearel wanted so badly to make my mother's day extra special but all I asked out of him was to keep Jay busy while I studied for my up coming finals. I also told him to not spend a dime on me since I want to save that money to splurge on myself while in California. I already know Jenni and I will be doing alot of shopping.


With all that I asked Jay and Daddy decided to surprise me with a gift certificate for a pedicure to my favorite place. I let them take me out to breakfast that morning. They also got me the Twilight Saga in hard back. I already read and have the first two books in soft cover but the last two only come in hard cover (I had to have them all the same;)). I have been desperately waiting to read Eclipse this entire semester but I made at deal with myself to not read anything besides my school stuff. This has been very hard for me since I am so in love with Edward. I always joke with Jenni that Edward and I were on a little break but now we can finally be together again.


~Thank you so much to the two loves of my life for making my day extra special. I am sorry we couldn't do much more but I promise both of you a fun filled summer!! I love you both more than words can say. I couldn't imagine not being a mommy to the most beautiful baby girl in the world. Jayla you are my sunshine, my little angel from up above. I am so blessed to have you in my life. You make me so proud to call you my daughter. Having you is like having a mommy's day each and every day.~

SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER

I took my last final exam yesterday and was officially out the door at 12:05 pm. It is a bitter sweet feeling for me because I truly enjoyed my teachers this semester as well as the challenges. In the very beginning I thought I was going to drop my Anatomy and Physiology class and re-take it over the summer, but to my surprise I walked away with an A, thank you to Dr. Karl Krout for that. He is by far one of the greatest professors out there. I am such an over-achiever with this stuff and always have been. I beat myself up if I can't get that A. There were plenty of moments when I felt like I didn't have a life besides school. In the end it was all worth it. Why? For more reasons than one. Not only is it such an amazing feeling, but as for now it keeps me above all the rest of the students applying for the nursing program. I will be turning in my application in a few more weeks. I am waiting for my finger print card to come back as well as taking the NET test to turn in with my application. I am shooting for the bachelor's program at ASU. So as for now I will continue to take classes at GCC, while I am waiting, the long wait, to get into the program. I have decided to take the summer off. I am not sure if I am more excited or sad about this. I woke up this morning feeling relaxed and saying to myself, NOW WHAT?

~I want to thank Jenni for all your support and encouragement along the way. I know it helps that you are a teacher, but you always gave me that thumbs up when I needed it. I love ya and am so looking forward to our summer off together!

I also have to thank Jearel for dealing with my freak outs when I never felt like there was enough time to do everything. For him this is just the beginning of whats to come. He wasn't always the best at keeping me focused on school. He would much rather have me drinking a beer with him. Good thing I am good at resisting temptation.

I can't forget to thank Grandma Riley and Gammy Garrett for taking Jay so I could go to school during the day and be with my family at night. Jayla loved every second of seeing both of you. (Just a reminder that you are more than welcome to still have her over the summer ;))

Lastly I can't not thank my beautiful daughter enough. I believe it is because of you that mommy has decided to finally get her butt in gear and finish school. I could not have done this with out you. You have brought me so much motivation. Seeing you everyday makes me want nothing but the best for you and our family. I love you more than anything.~

Cinco De Drinko

Jearel and I finally got to get a night out together. Most of you know that he works way too way much and is always working every Friday and Saturday night. Poor guy can never get a break. Thanks to Grandma Riley for taking Jay so Jearel and I could go out and have fun with some of our closest friends. We had a little too much fun. I am still hurting two days after. With Jearel being 34 and me 30, I am thinking we are getting too old for this. Jearel's mom said we are just not seasoned for it anymore. I hope this is true, cuz I definitely can't give up beer.
