Garrett Family Weekend Fun...

...Okay well Mama Garrett got to have most the fun and kept everyone super busy.

Friday afternoon Jayla and I headed out for a play date with Candis and Camden. We met out at Desert Ridge to do a little shopping and let the girls run around Barnes and Noble.
Camden and Jayla just hanging out... Not really, Candis and I forced them to sit still for a picture.
Camden was much more interested in this book, than taking a picture and Jayla was in one of her moods (thanks to a VERY short nap that day)
Jayla loved playing with these germ infested trains- I know, I know, I'm trying to get the hang of this germ thing.
Camden was like watching a kid in a candy store. She ran around touching everything as well as pulling everything off of the shelves. She was having a blast!!
Camden reading Jay's new Elmo book. ~Candis, she may be an Elmo fan now :)~
~Thank you Candis for a fun afternoon! Hiking and drinks here we come :)~
After I left our play date, Jayla and I headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Riley's house to meet up and pass off Jayla for the night.
Jearel and I had two adult birthday parties to attend. First was off to Bobby Mcgees (oops excuse me, Bobby Q's) for Jearel's friend's birthday and then it was off to my friend's birthday.
I was planning on getting some pictures of our night out, but we both were having so much fun that I forgot all about the camera.
Saturday we spent the day re-arranging Jayla's bedroom to make it more "Big Girl". The biggest thing was transferring her bed into the toddler bed, only to find out that Babies R Us ordered us the wrong part over 3 years ago and after an annoying ordeal with them, we just got our money back for the side rail that didn't match her crib. So Jayla is learning to sleep in the next portion of the transition, being the daybed. So far so good, she has not fallen out of her bed and I suppose even if she did, she couldn't hurt herself. It is only a step up from the ground. Plus she really loves being able to climb in and out of her bed on her own. As a matter of fact, today, after her nap, she got up and walked right out to me. It was the cutest thing ever!!! I will have to post pictures soon.

Sunday, I got up early and headed out to participate in the Phoenix 10k walk for domestic violence.
I was amazed at how many people showed up and also sadden by many, that wore shirts in memory of their loved ones that were lost to domestic violence. A really good friend of mine was a victim of domestic violence. I proudly walked next to her, showing my support.
This wasn't even the just of how many people were there. I had a knot in my throat just seeing how many people are affected by this abuse.

After our walk, they had a kids dash. There were kids of all ages, toddlers to teens, getting ready for a little run.
Chris and I after the walk.
~Chris thank you so much for asking me to be a part of this walk. I love you girl.~

Awww, I'm glad YOU got pictures since my camera was resting at home! They look so cute together to me, since they are about as opposite as it gets: brown/blue eyes, curly/straight hair! Sorry Camden wasn't more social or interactive with Jay- that girl is obsessed with books & could care LESS about anything else once she sees them.

Thank you for coming our way- I sound like a broken record, but we really appreciate that. Good times with the blondies as usual, and we'll get our hike planned soon!

I was hopin' to catch a glance at your wrestling shoes!?
